Canoe and Kayak Storage Rack Rules

  1. Never leave your boat on the ground at the beach. Chains will be cut and boats will be removed.
  2. Make sure your boat is stored securely on a rack.  There are no assigned rack slots unless you were issued a 'Reserved' permit in which case your boat should be stored in a rack slot marked as 'Reserved'.   Reserved rack slots are only for those with physical limitations that require ease of access and require the approval of Parks and Rec Commission.
  3. Beginning in 2009, boats do not have to be removed for the July 4th fireworks as in previous years since the fireworks will no longer be held on the pond.
  4. You must remove your boat from the racks by October 25th, 2009 or it will be removed for you at your risk and expense.
  5. There will be a chain provided that will be locked to each rack by Park and Rec. if you run your chain through the Park and Rec. chain we will not need to cut your lock in the event your boat needs to be removed. If you feel more comfortable chaining your boat to the rack you run the risk of getting your chain cut, if necessary
  6. You must be a Harvard resident or taxpayer to qualify for a storage sticker.
